Epochrypha is in development. Rules and wording change often, and some pages are still outlines.

Epochs

An Epoch is a world you play Epochrypha in.

The core rules never change. They cover how to resolve an action, how characters grow, and how a fight works, and they’re deliberately silent about where you are and what’s true there. An Epoch fills that silence.

An Epoch can be an age, a place, a people, or a condition — whatever the world needs it to be. The word doesn’t restrict you to history.

Your character sheet is the same in every Epoch. All twelve scores — the ten Attributes and the two Resources — are named by the core rules and mean the same thing wherever you play.

What an Epoch supplies is everything those scores point at:

An Epoch decides Which is why
What Aura is a conduit to Every world has a source of power, but not the same one
What Will is holding back Every source of power has a leash
What Favor is measuring Every world has a way of deciding what you can get
Weapons and armor This is what sets how lethal a fight is
Backgrounds, Jobs, and Archetypes Who you can have been, and what you can do for a living
Experience Trees What there is to learn

So Aura is always called Aura and always works the same way. In Zsenai it’s the conduit for a bound spirit; another Epoch might make it a stranger thing entirely. The score doesn’t move — the fiction underneath it does.

Because the vocabulary is shared, an Epoch’s pages don’t have to restate the core rules in their own words. They describe the world, supply the tables, and assume you’ve read Playing the Game.

Zsenai — an iron-and-bronze world where power is a bargain struck with a spirit that rides you afterwards, and wealth is standing rather than coin. In development.

The core rules define what an Epoch has to supply and what it’s free to change — a power source and its leash, a way of deciding what you can get, and the weapons and armor that set how lethal a fight is.

That’s a separate reading context from playing or running, and it gets its own section here once the interfaces settle.
